1 Peter 2:18-25
Scaling Mount Everest is a major accomplishment, and it takes much preparation and the need for experienced guides to take you through to the top. It is a perilous and difficult enterprise. The Bible explains that Jesus is our guide as a believer over the mountain called life, particularly that place on the ascent where we encounter injustice. Jesus leads us on the same path that he earlier travelled. If we follow him on that path, we will address the personal injustices that we will encounter in this life. We are living in a world filled with injustices. The question is often why are we suffering these injustices rather than asking how we can endure and grow through the seasons of injustice? Are we suffering because of something we have done wrong? Or are we suffering because of something we have done right? How can Peter’s first-century context become applicable to us today?
